Civil Engineer exploring options for Drastic Career change

I have been working for one of our local transit agencies as a civil engineer in a project management type capacity for 5 years. Essentially I got hired as an entry level engineer straight out of college and have been doing that and growing in the agency ever since. During that time I got my Professional Engineering license, have been promoted twice, have succeeded in working in a dynamic team environment delivering large Capital projects,and made tons of professional connections and awesome friends. All in all, I have strongly positioned myself to continue to grow in this particular field.

I'm bored. There isn't one particular thing that led me to this conclusion but a slow build up of disillusionment. I think I am at a "jumping off a cliff" moment where I am not scared to take major risks, abandon what I have in the pursuit of something potentially greater.

I want to see what else is out there and what else I can be involved with. Having been entrenched in engineering for a while, its a little tough to know where to look. For example, I have a strong interest in music. Now I am not naive in thinking that I will make it in the music industry as an artist, but the industry is supported by more people than just artists. I am sure with someone with my skill set, which I would generally classify as the capability to lead and deliver a complex project, can be useful in a variety of industries. In addition, I think having that day to day exposure to more artistic type people in that environment would be healthier for my own artistic pursuits which I constantly work on.

The gaming industry is another option I would contemplate, again not as a coder or software developer, but something where I can be involved in the more macro level of things. I realize I'm being kind of vague in what I want, and that is because I don't really know, but I do know I don't necessarily see myself being an engineer for 30 years...

Anyone out there have experience or suggestions with making a radical shift like the one I'm considering?
